Artist Statement (September 2016)
In my paintings I put the emotions that are difficult—at times seemingly impossible—for me to express in other aspects of my life.
Some concern loss but they are also odes to what is important to me, what I love, what I’m afraid to lose. For me, each work simultaneously exorcises and protects.
These paintings are about my life. Each is a mapping of various times and places, and those elements exist all at once, as one, in each painting.
They are my emotions and memories. To me, they each represent eternity.
